Who’s the monster exploiting you?

One of the hardest things we can do is look at where we’ve been exploited or taken advantage of. It feels painful, even shameful, and often it’s easier to avoid it altogether. But avoiding it doesn’t change the situation—it only keeps you stuck in the same cycle of hurt, fear, or powerlessness. The truth is, if you want to move forward and heal, it’s necessary to look at what’s really happening. This isn’t about blame or judgment; it’s about awareness.

You might feel like acknowledging your exploitation makes you weak, but it’s actually the opposite. The moment you face it, you’re taking the first step toward reclaiming your power. When you name the situation, you stop being a passive participant and start becoming an active agent in your own life. Exploitation thrives in the shadows—in avoidance, denial, or fear. Bringing it to light is how you take away its hold over you.

This process doesn’t mean you need to have all the answers or solve everything overnight. It’s about starting with awareness: What is really happening? Where have I given up my influence? What beliefs or fears are keeping me here? When you ask these questions, you take back the ability to respond rather than react. From this space, you can begin to make choices that align with your strength and self-respect. You’re not defined by what’s been done to you—you’re defined by how you rise from it.

If this reached you or there was something that truly resonated with you, please like and share in hopes this will maybe reach someone that it could help.
