Unpopular opinion : MENA region should be considered a continent on its own
Lets be honest guys the conventional model of seven continents is far more a product of historical convention than strict geographic logic. Europe and Asia share a single massive tectonic landmark yet Europe is classified as a separate continent based almost entirely on its distinct cultural, political, and historical identity. By that exact standard, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region possesses an equally compelling claim to continental status, why?
Because its populations have shared deep civilizational ties, common trade networks, similar urban architecture, and dominant linguistic and cultural traditions for millennia.
