đŸ”¥Tarantula Hawk carrying its prey into its burrow
Just witnessed this incredible moment during my volunteer job in Ecuador.
The Tarantula Hawk lays its eggs into the still alive spider, where its babies hatch and eventually start eating the Tarantula from the inside. At this point the spider has been kept alive for 3-4 weeks.
The sting of the Tarantula Hawk is described to be one of the most painful ones in the world. Supposedly you have to lay down and scream for five minutes straight and after you feel fine again. #nature source
