Murloc Minder on Curseforge https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/murloc-minder About 3 weeks ago I showed off my Tamagotchi-inspired murloc raising addon. Since then, I’ve been building out new features while also trying to get raid-ready for my HC group.
Murloc Minder now includes limited customization, over 200 achievements, expanded challenge systems, and even a way to re-roll your murloc into a Rare(or better) form.
Here are some of the major changes since the original release:
* The egg phase is now a fully fledged onboarding/tutorial experience. * The challenge system was expanded significantly, with better variety, improved rewards, cleaner reroll/reload behavior, and egg-phase tutorial challenges to help teach the addon naturally. * The entire need-decay system was rewritten to use flat values instead of multiplicative scaling, which makes future tuning and expansion much easier. * Need values now run internally on a 0-1000 scale instead of a simple 0-100 display, giving the system more room to grow. * Customization was added, including purchasable habitat backgrounds and earnable titles. * Achievements were added in a format inspired by Blizzard’s achievement UI, helping track progress and unlock new titles. * Pet traits now interact more directly with gameplay. For example, Playful pets want more play, Gluttonous pets want more food, and Responsible pets are more likely to start scavenging on their own. * The store and shell economy were reworked, and new high-end items were added, including a trinket that lets you re-roll for a rarer murloc. * UI and UX have been improved heavily. The tracker and main panel now share more logic, the addon has gone through a full sound pass, and both UI interactions and murloc care/actions now have better audio feedback. * I also added a lot of utility features, including a minimap button, expanded tooltip support, telemetry for bug reports and balancing feedback, and more.
I have surpassed 10k downloads in these few weeks and I have also received a ton of feedback and bug reports from many people.
