If you’re not familiar, UHT is milk package in a paper carton (like a big juice box) and it doesn’t need to be refrigerated until opened. Sealed, it has a shelf life of 6-9 months. Its flavor is slightly different than standard milk but unless you are very picky it can be used just like regular milk in cereal, oatmeal, etc.
I started buying it at Walmart before going on camping trips with our kids. Then, it occurred to me that it’s really useful to have on hand at home.
Most of the time when we need to make a last-minute run to the grocery store, it’s because we are out of MILK, because our kids binged on cereal or we did some baking or used up the gallon jug we buy once per week. And then we spend extra time and gas going to the store, and end up buying random stuff that we don’t need at the store. So, folks, a box of UHT milk will come in “clutch” and save you from having to make a random trip to the grocery store. #finance
