Do you agree that female celebrities are judged more harshly for getting pregnant before marriage?
I came across this opinion piece from Radar PH, and honestly, it made me think about how differently people react when a female celebrity gets pregnant before marriage.
The comments can quickly turn into questions about her values, upbringing, career, and why she “didn't get married first.” Meanwhile, when the father is a male celebrity, the reaction can sometimes be much more forgiving—congratulations, jokes about fatherhood, etc.
I do understand that some people personally believe marriage should come before having children, and they're entitled to that belief. But should that belief be used to publicly shame someone?
For me, the more important question is whether the child is loved, cared for, and growing up in a healthy environment.
Do you think Filipino society still holds women to a different standard when it comes to pregnancy before marriage?
