Patrick Wayne Swayze (Houston, Texas, August 18, 1952 - Los Angeles, California, September 14, 2009) was an American actor, dancer and singer.
His fulfillment as an actor came with the television series "North y South" and later with box office and critical hits such as "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost", works, among others, that made him become one of the most popular actors of the 80's and 90's, even being considered the sexiest man alive in the world by "People Magazine". His career includes varied genres such as comedy, drama and action films. As a singer-songwriter, "She's Like the Wind" was his best-known song, reaching high positions on singles charts around the world. He died from pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed in early 2008, at the same time he was working on the television series "The Beast".
