Question about art basel
holaaaa todes,
I’m from San Diego and have been wanting to check out Miami, esp as I’ve gotten into some of the experimental edm coming out of South Florida.
I heard about art basel a while back and thought “that would be sick, I’d get to go visit Miami, check out some interesting art and hopefully catch a couple of fun shows.” It also happens on my bday (which made the idea seem even more fun), but I’ve been reading that event is actually kind of a shit show, pretentious, mucho faranduleo etc etc
is this true and if so, is there a way to do art Basel that‘s worth it, and wont wreck the bank (or feel like an eye roll parade)??
ig for a little more context, I’m pretty much average appreciator of art (in the sense that I like to experience art and let it move me, but would be lost if someone started to say something to me about abstract Impressionism). lmk what yall think, saludos!!
