Mayon Volcano is an active stratovolcano located in the province of Albay, on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Known for its near-perfect conical shape, it is one of the most active volcanoes in the country, with a long history of eruptions. Mayon has erupted more than 50 times in the past 400 years. Its most destructive eruption occurred in 1814, which buried the town of Cagsawa and led to the deaths of around 1,200 people.
