Are AI music tools actually changing composition, or just…

Are AI music tools actually changing composition, or just remixing theory we already know?

I’ve been spending some time experimenting with ambient instrumental music lately, mostly around Indian flute, drones, and slow meditative arrangements, and it got me thinking about how AI-generated music fits into music theory as a whole.

A lot of the newer tools can generate technically “correct” melodies and harmonies, but I still notice that the smallest things — phrasing, silence, repetition, tension/release — are what actually make something feel musical or emotionally convincing.

Especially with slower meditative music, simplicity seems much harder to get right than complexity.

Curious how people here see it:
Do AI music tools feel like actual instruments for composition now, or more like advanced pattern prediction based on existing musical structures?

I’ve been exploring these ideas through a small project called “The Golden Raga,” focused on ambient flute and meditation-style music.

Would love honest feedback from people who are into theory/composition. If this kind of sound interests you, feel free to check it out sometime.
