LPT: When you buy a suitcase, don’t throw away the receipt, keep it in somewhere you’ll remember.
Most of the airlines are willing you to pay a certain amount of damage reimbursement without the receipt. However that amount is generally VERY small that barely affords a new suitcase. And I assume you don’t buy a suitcase every other week. Thus, when you buy a new one, keep the receipt in somewhere you’ll remember, or take it’s picture, or give it to your mom! At least you’ll get a proper refund.
