Manager working on her birthday that she booked off for vacation
My boss took a week long vacation this week (paid time off). Today is birthday too and she is travelling back home to spend time with family. Yet she is checking emails, messaging us, and asking about status updates about specific work related things while she is away.
She drives me insane sometimes. Two months ago she had to take a sudden one week stress leave because works stressed her out. Our director asked her to remove teams/emails from her phone and not log in that entire week. Yet she was still logging in and her status was active on Teams.
The thing is, there is nothing urgent or pressing she needs to address while she's away. Our director is very flexible and sets a good standard and doesn't log in at all if she is away, and asks everyone, including her, to do the same. Most questions we have, we can go to our director(s) for. We are a pretty independent team as well and don't feel like we need her around to answer eveything. This manager just can't separate herself from work.
