I'm looking for suggestions on wet weather cruiser tires.
New rider here, and I'm looking at new tires for my 2005 Softail Standard. As to why I have it for a first bike, I got it in a trade. Runs beautifully, but it sat unused for an unknown period of time and while the tires have quite a bit of tread with very little checking only on the front, they're old and getting harder from age.
I'm looking for tires that will perform well in the rain, since I'm primarily using it to commute. I'm okay with something higher priced if that's what it's going to take, and not bothered by the shorter life that comes with a softer compound. Obviously dry performance is important as well. I was looking at the Michelin Commander IIIs, but I'm open to just about anything.
For additional factors, I'm in Northern Illinois. Summers here are not brutally hot, but often humid. I'm not going to be doing a lot of long distance highway riding, but it's not out of the question.
