And on Feb. 4, 1983,  Karen Carpenter  by the duo "The Carpenters", died at the age of 32. Her official cause of death was “emetine cardiotoxicity due to or as a consequence of anorexia nervosa.” In other words, Karen, in her desperate battle with her eating disorder, had poised herself to death with ipecac syrup. Some time ago in the 70's this single beautiful Christmas song, due to her sweet, sweet and angelic voice, Karen Carpenter captured the total preference of the public around the world for Christmas, even more than the current and always present Christmas songs by Maria Carey.
