Indonesia Launches Asia's Largest Satellite Satria-1, Here Are Its Specs
The Republic of Indonesia Satellite (Satria)-1 was successfully launched today, Monday (19/6/2023) in the early morning. The largest satellite in Asia was launched into an orbital slot of 146 degrees East Longitude using a Falcon 9 rocket made by SpaceX. The launch of Satria-1 was carried out on the United States Space Force's runway in Tanjung Canaveral, Florida. Referring to the launching rocket, the person in charge of launching this multifunctional satellite is SpaceX, a company owned by Elon Musk. The Satria-1 satellite itself carries Very High Throughput Satellite (VHTS) technology. According to BAKTI Kominfo's 2023 study, the Satria-1 satellite is estimated to be able to serve speeds of up to 150 Gbps. This satellite is capable of providing internet services at 50.000 public facility points. Internet speed at each public service point is estimated to reach 4 Mbps. Satria-1 will be fully operational by January 2024.
