Tiktok has a Project "S" this is what some countries are arguing about, data collection, reading of a country's economic algorithm through its e-commerce platform. and what is being contested in Indonesia is a Chinese product that devours all Indonesian local product businesses. I am sure, all countries will give the same attitude if they feel asa something detrimental .... is not it?

german industry is mostly dead and companys either sourced out the work to eastern europe or been sold off to chinese companys and our politicians are currently working their best to bury the little thats left of the industry and economy.

There was a parliamentary debate to ban it here in Kenya but later they agreed just to let it be regulated.
I hope they ban it here in the USA, my two teens are zombies on their phones most of the time and normally they are stuck on tictok
TikTok makes my brother a lot of money from his livestreams. He gets paypal tips for playing in the street.

Its a tough question, it's either strong authority government or techcompanies authority? i guess you can try to ban certain foreign services and products but it depends if the own economy /tech can come up with a good aequivalent which is hard because tiktok is already globally established. In the long run it could hurt the economy to ban foreign tech and also will turn the younger demographic away from the political parties responsible for this.

I am with you.. I have 2 teenage kids and I work hard to try and give them a balance of real life and 2d life.
