Origin of "Custom" Trim Name?
I can't figure out how to word this question to get any decent Google results, so figured I'd ask here.
What is the origin of using the term "Custom" to designate a trim package?
Being a pre-defined trim package, by definition, makes it *not* custom. I've never been able to understand why this name has been used by manufacturers on stock vehicles.
