Is it okay to work with a chess coach if you aren't good and just like chess for fun?
Ive recently discovered i really like chess!! i find it so fun and i get such a kick from playing! The thing is, im REALLY bad at it lol, and im not all that bright. At the same time, the idea of working with another human who explains to me strategies, points out flaws in my playing style, and teaches me things sounds awesome! I worry, however, that someone who is at the level of advanced where theyre capable of teaching another person chess would not be interested in entertaining such a novice whos really just in it for fun. I am not informed on chess coaches or the etiquette though so my perspective is lacking. From y'alls experience is seeking chess coaching recreationally acceptable? Thank you! #games source
