A woman just retired after 73 years at the same meat processing plant. Is this inspiring… or just depressing?

Honestly, good for her if that’s what she wanted—but stories like this always hit weird. Why are we acting like it’s normal or admirable that someone has to work into their 90s, instead of asking why so many people can’t afford to retire earlier?
Working your whole life shouldn’t be the default. Retirement should be something you actually get to enjoy, not something you finally reach after 70+ years on the job.
