Leaving our house for the summer. How to deal with…

Leaving our house for the summer. How to deal with humidity and heat?!

Hello Japanlifers

The wife and I will be going to Europe for 1.5 months from the end of June and we are looking for some advice from people who have experience leaving their house in the summer.

We are particularly worried about the humidity and mold... So let me give some background and outline our main concerns.

We purchased a 2 story stand alone house in the suburbs of Tokyo last year. It is a blooming garden home made by Iida group. It has an insulation rating of 5 (double pane gas windows, 24/ vent system, shutters on most big windows, new Kirigamine air conditioners). It is a standard new wooden house besides that.

We have some neighbors that can come check on the house occasionally and put the mail inside and help air it out which is nice but we are thinking to:

- Put the air conditioners on timers to ventilate the house and keep it from roasting. We can also use the app to have them run if it becomes a certain tempature and to turn off at night.
- Put fans on timers so they run occasionally for ventilation especially to push air into the closet.
- I also have an office with some equipment and a few guitars I don't think should be at super crazy tempatures so I'm thinking to leave the AC on In that room the whole time and just eat the cost. Should the AC be on cooling, dehumidify, or is a timer for a few hours a day only okay?
- Leave all the doors open to promote circulation.
- Clean out sinks, toilets and ofuro to keep mold from occuring. Is there anything more we can do for mold prevention? Should we turn off the water maybe?
- Put a light on timer for basic security reasons but neighbors will also come and check up on the house (we are pretty friendly).
- Other than that we are going to weed the garden and spread weed killer (mostly for the neighbors).

- Lastly one of our other biggest concerns are the indoor plants. We might have to ask a neighbor to come water them regularly but is there any way to water them while we are gone? We tried those screw on cone caps for the PET bottles but it drained within an hour...

We don't want to come back home to mold or some other potential horrid problem.
Is there more we can do or some things we are forgetting? First time doing this and we are a bit anxious so any and all advice is very appreciated!

TLDR: Leaving new house in Tokyo for the summer, what can we do to promote ventilation and prevent mold and other problems etc. Any Advice Appreciated!
