IDEA: secret santa/giftexchange application.
A minimum fixed amount of dollars worth the gift
(Example: Tier 1: 0-5$, Tier 2: 10-20$, Tier 3: 50$, NOT INCLUDING THE INDIVIDUAL SHIPPING COSTS )
Participants enter by staking an equivalent value amount of millix to their tier
(Example: Tier 1 0-5$ participant stakes 37,313,432 Millix at current price etc.)
The staked amount serves as an insurance to other participants in case they dont get a gift (someone tries to cheat etc.)
Participants get matched by tiers but randomly
( Person A sends gift to Person B who sends gift to Person C who sends gift to Person D who sends gift to Person A, etc.)
If youve sent your gift, you can insert the shipping number into the app and it gets shown to the recipient only. Tracking number serves as proof of sending and is crucial to get your staked amount back. The receiver has to post proof of receiving the gift aswell to get the sender his amount back aswell as his own. Basically an interdependent trust system were both parties document it. Cases of errors via postal services can be resolved by providing proofs (screenshots, emails) handed in to some community trusted volunteers.
In the application: participants can enter their adress information (private adress or P.O. Box), a list of things they wish for and a list of things they definitly dont want/are allergic to. Also they can add extra info regarding packing or special customs information.
Matchmaking would be done via the application either on a specific given date or if enough participants have joined the pool. All information would be within the app and each giftee would only receive the information of the person they send to. Any personal information or posts about matches on tangled are prohibited and lead to disqualification. The culprits staked amount would be shared equally among the other participants.
What do you think? In any case it can't be 100% foolproof but i think this narrows the risk down by quite a bit. Do you have suggestions? Would you take part in something like this?
