Do you pack down your umbrella softbox between shoots or just leave it built?
Shooting on location solo means setup time matters. I recently grabbed a K&F umbrella octa and skipping the individual rods makes on site life a lot easier. In a studio, setting up a traditional modifier isn’t a big deal. But on location, I just want everything ready before talent shows up. I used to break down standard boxes every single time, but with an umbrella setup, I find myself just tossing the built box straight into the back of the car if I have the room. Folding it away is fast, but saving that extra step on site makes it hard not to leave it popped open.
