Lost/Stolen heavy moving box with USCIS immigration docs & SSN
Hey everyone, I’m panicking a bit here. I moved on Friday (June 5) from Pavilion Apartments on 5461 N East River Rd to W Montrose Ave. Somewhere during the loading, a huge, very heavy cardboard box went missing. It’s easily a two-person lift, so it couldn't have just blown away or been grabbed casually.
Inside the box: a computer keyboard, some books, but the critical part is a folder with all my official immigration correspondence and my physical SSN card.
I’ve already frozen my credit and filed a police report, but I’m desperate to find the physical documents. If anyone lives around Pavilion Apartments and saw a massive box left near the basement loading zones, curbs, or dumpsters over the weekend, please let me know.
Also, if anyone has had their SSN lost during a move, how bad is the replacement process? Any advice on how to handle the federal agencies?
