In Sundarbans, traces of human habitation dating back one to one and a half thousand years have been found. The artifacts were discovered at five sites in the world's largest tropical forest. Various useful materials of people used thousands of years ago have also been found from different places in the forest. While reviewing some books written on the ancient history of Sundarbans and Jessore-Khulna, a researcher named Isme Azam has recently discovered these patterns.
The largest structures have been found at Khejurdana, Arpangashia and Shekerte on the Bay of Bengal coast, 83 km from the Shyamnagar part of Satkhira in the Sundarbans. Some other structures have been found on the banks of the Kholpatua river in the Satkhira part of the Sundarbans and in Cuttack in the Khulna part. These old structures have started to come out due to the erosion of the river bank by the waves.
