Super.com “member pricing” feels misleading - am I missing something?
Updated to remove problematic link...
Curious if anyone else has run into this or if I misunderstood something.
I was booking a hotel and saw two prices on Super.com :
* $274/night without Super+ * $242/night with Super+ (with a total price shown including taxes/fees)
The way it’s presented, it really looks like if you sign up for the free trial, you’ll pay the lower nightly rate.
So I signed up and booked it.
After booking, I checked the confirmation and realized I was actually charged \~$274/night anyway. The “savings” they showed weren’t applied to the booking. They’re given as a future cashback credit you can only use later on their platform (after 30 days or somethign).
That’s…not the same thing.
Maybe this is buried in fine print somewhere, but the way it’s displayed makes it seem like a real upfront discount, not “pay full price now and get credit later.”
I even called support and they basically said that’s just how it works and there’s nothing they can do.
Also weird: when I tried to screenshot the pricing during checkout, the screen would go blank, so I had to literally take photos of my screen to document it.
The kicker to me is how it's presented. They explicitly list their member price with total fees and taxes included. Then upon confirmation say their nightly price is actually the $274. Something feels "Super" off about this.
Am I missing something here or this what you'd expect as a consumer? Feels pretty misleading imo. #finance source
