Gus Arnheim & His Orchestra - Singin’ in the Rain (instrumental) - 1929
23 years before MGM released their classic 1952 film “Singin’ in the Rain,” the title song was one of the last major hits of the Roaring 20s. Cliff “Ukulele Ike” Edwards made it famous on record and introduced it on-screen in the early musical “The Hollywood Revue Of 1929” which showed off the “talkie” talents of many of MGM’s stars.
Original 78rpm issue on Victor 22012 - Singin’ in the Rain ( Freed - Brown ) by Gus Arnheim & His Orchestra, recorded in Hollywood, April 28, 1929.
