What book would you give an 8 year old for pure mathematics?
The curriculum in her system seems to only teach basic standard math. She likes playing around with numbers, doing arithmetic tricks and all. I thought it'd be quite nice if there was something for kids that spurred this interest.
I remember reading Flatland when I was young and it spurred my interest in fundamental physics and higher dimensions. Thinking of buying it for her as well! There's also Vedic Mathematics and Abacus learning books but that's mostly just tricks. I did have a book that talked about different numbers like e, pi and their history but I don't recall the name. Another one is Mathematics can be fun by Ya Perelman.
