TIL there were 88,600 child brides in BARMM as of 2021 based on Bangsamoro Women Commission Study---How did this escape national attention unlike Chad Gammad and Apple David??

It's horrifying to think that there were probably 13-15 yr old girls who had dreams and wanted to enjoy their teen yrs were just married off to some grown ass old man against their will... and that happened HERE in the Philippines. I dont care if that's the "culture" down there, 88K child marriages is essentially mass institutionalized rape!
Child marriage was only criminalized in our laws in 2022! How did it take that long? So before 2022, this kind of marriage was just permitted? Now that it's presently illegal, can those marriages be dissolved??
Also I'm not here for whataboutism. To be clear, the grooming issue around Apple and Chad is valid and rightfully condemnable. But to lock children into marriage WHILE underage is on a whole different level/ case. Whats more sad is how this went under the radar for lawmakers, media and social media. The uproar we have now towards Apple and Chad, should also be there for these 88K child bride victims as well. We should be questioning why child marriages seemed like a cultural norm in the BARMM. I dont know if we're just too distracted as a country and we like to hyper focus on smaller things, while larger evils are happening right under our nose.
