My First WoW Guild Experience Kind of Ruined Guilds for Me
I was in a guild for about two months, and I ended up leaving because it was so clique-based that I never felt like I fit in. They would purposely exclude me from Heroics and Mythics, and whenever I asked for help in guild chat, I’d get ignored. Then someone else would ask the exact same question, and they’d immediately get help.
I’ve only been playing WoW for about 7 months, so I’m still learning a lot, especially with the new expansion dropping and changing so much. I haven’t even joined a guild this expansion because my first experience was so bad. The GM actively recruited me, but when I needed help or had questions, they never really did anything.
I’m not sure if I should give guilds another chance. Since leaving, I’ve mostly stuck to delves because of how I was treated. I don’t really know if I want to try building connections with other players again. The game itself is still fun, and I’m not trying to bash WoW. It was just disappointing that my experience as a new player was soured by one guild.
They clearly showed favoritism, and it felt like they decided they didn’t like me because I “talked too much.” The thing is, I barely talked at all. Most of the time, I only spoke to ask questions, and they always seemed visibly irritated whenever I did. I guess what I don’t understand is this: if they had no interest in helping or including me, why recruit me in the first place?
I will also mention this guild had drama every other week and instead of the GM resolving it he just does nothing about it which also added to the tension I suppose. #entertainment source
