How do you know Electronic Music is Not Just a Phase for Someone?
**CONTEXT:** I'm an introvert, so my brain is not wired to meet a lot of people for the sake of it, and it can actually feel draining.
# Q: What signs do you watch or questions do you ask when meeting someone, to know they are really into Electronic Music, and not someone going through a phase?
Sometimes, when meeting people at parties, raves or festivals, or online to attend events together, I've realized that for some, Electronic Music is transient or just a phase. They get excited about it because their friends told them, they're bored and want to attend a party with someone for X or Y reason (not mostly for the music), or saw an artist/event pop in their Social Media Feed, and it had a ton of followers/views, so it must be cool! Eventually, they disappear, or the connection fades away when they find another thing that will entertain them. Personally, it feels like a waste of time and energy.
I'm not elitist or trying to gatekeep anything. I'm asking for myself because I prefer personal connections with substance over quirk or superficial ones. To me, Pop and Rock were phases, but Electronic Music (House, Trance, Techno) is 95% of what I listen to today. If anyone with experience on the subject can chime in with some ideas or questions they'd usually ask, it would be greatly appreciated. TIA for your answers! 🙏 #music source
