Today is Black Saturday!
I had goosebumps more than one time watching this movie!
This morning, I looked for a movie related to the Season of Lent. However, to be honest, up to now, I can't seem to make myself watch the movie The Passion. I don't know why, perhaps, maybe I can't bare to watch how brutally our Lord suffered in the hands of men. And Mel Gibson, the director of that movie, did not hold back in showing how brutal and painful the flagging using the cat-o-nine-tails, and the crucifixion.
Anyways, I decided to watch a 2016 movie, Risen.
The movie tells the story of Christ's resurrection and how the Pharisees and the Romans tries to cover the truth by falsely accusing the disciples of stealing the corpse to claim that Jesus resurrected. The interesting part of this movie is, it is told from the point of view of a Roman tribune Clavius.
Pilate gave him the task to find the body to prove that Jesus did not resurrect and his body was stolen by the disciples. Until, he himself encountered the risen Christ.
Several scenes in the movie gave me the goosebumps. This scene is one of them.
