Recommendations for a decent used bolt action in 308
Hate buying new guns so I want to buy one that’s been around for a few years so the wood has some character.
I’d prefer one with pretty decent accuracy out to 300yards
A nice ish trigger and a bolt that is enjoyable to run.
I will possibly be hiking with it in the Rockies.
Budget is 3k
From a few forums the Winchester model 70 featherweight pre 64 is a nice choice is there any other ideas?
Not totally set on 308 but it’s a cheaper round so I can do some range time if I want but if it’s worth it should I go 270 or another caliber? I am willing to spend more if it means a decent bit more accuracy, less bullet drop and more affective stopping power for a more ethical kill I’m willing to pay for that.
Also never bought a gun online so if I buy one from a auction or gun sight and they send it to a gun shop for me to pick up and I don’t like it how bad is it or is it possible to return it?
