I Lost 4 Hours While Watching a Strange TV Broadcast
This happened around 2004, I was in high school around this time, and since it was summer, I could stay up late watching TV. It was around 11 PM. Everyone was asleep except my sister, who was upstairs on the second floor playing on the computer. I was downstairs in the living room on the first floor, watching TV by myself. The living room lights were on (which is very important to point out in this story)
One thing about our house was that it was in a very isolated area, far from the main road and surrounded by hills and trees.
Anyway, I couldn’t find anything good to watch, so I started flipping through the channels from 20 upward, just to make it interesting. I remember starting around Cartoon Network, which I believe was Channel 21. As I surfed up, I remembered that WOWOW was on Channel 69, and since they sometimes showed movies at night, I decided I’d stop there if I didn’t find anything else.
When I got to around channels 50–60, I knew those were mostly news channels, which I normally just skipped. But as I was flipping through them, I suddenly stumbled across one that caught my attention. It was in black and white, showing a strange suburban house that looked like it was from the 1970s.
I didn’t think much of it at first, so I continued up to Channel 69. When there was still nothing good on, I started flipping back down and eventually came across that strange channel again.
I stopped.
It was still the same black and white scene. I remember there was a house just a few feet away, like I was standing outside of it. Then the camera slowly started moving toward the house.
I don’t know how to explain it, but it felt real like I wasn’t watching a movie anymore. It was almost like a first-person perspective, as if I was the one carrying the camera.
It felt like I was actually there, watching something that had happened inside that house. I remember entering the living room, going upstairs, and then coming back down again. I don’t remember everything that happened in between, but I remember the feeling of actually moving through the house.
Then I saw a strange **Stepford-like woman** just standing there, smiling directly at me.
I suddenly woke up in the exact same sitting position I had been in while flipping through the channels, still holding the remote in my hand.
The TV was showing static, and the entire house was dark.
For a few seconds, I was completely confused. I looked at the clock on our radio, which was sitting on top of the TV, and it was around 3 AM.
But I was only watching the TV for a few minutes.
There was no way I had been asleep for four hours. It didn’t feel like I had been asleep that long at all. In fact, **I didn’t even remember falling asleep**. There was no moment where I felt tired, no memory of closing my eyes, and no memory of anything happening between watching that strange movie and waking up.
I panicked and wasnt even thinking of investigating so I turned off the TV and ran to my room, which was just next to the living room.
As I was pacing around inside my room, a lot of things started going through my head.
Here’s the thing: I don’t normally fall asleep in front of the TV. I mean, I do sometimes, but only when I’m lying down. And even then, I always remember falling asleep. I know what it feels like when I doze off while watching something. I would remember getting sleepy, closing my eyes, or waking up after falling asleep.
But this time, I remembered \*\*nothing\*\*.
And then there was the light.
The living room light had been on when I was watching TV. The only person who could have turned it off was my dad, since his room was also on the first floor, near mine.
But if my dad had turned off the light, he would have seen me sitting there in the living room. And knowing my dad, there was no way he would have just left me there.
He was pretty strict about things like that. We had a rule in our house that the lights and TV should be turned off before going to bed. If he had found me asleep in the living room with the TV still on, he would have woken me up or carried me to my room. He wouldn't have simply turned everything off and walked away, leaving me asleep on the couch.
**Was I actually gone? Did my dad not see me? Did no one see me sitting there?**
I wanted to ask my dad or my mom the next morning, but I couldn't. I knew they would be mad if I told them I had been watching TV very late. You know the feeling when you grew up in the 90's. Although i did tell my family but it was already like years later.
So I kept thinking: **What happened during those four hours?**
I couldn't explain where that time had gone or how I ended up waking up in the exact same position, with absolutely no memory of falling asleep.
The next day, I tried to find the channel again. I went through the channels around 50–60, but they were just international news channels and other programs that didn’t match what I had seen the night before.
Something about it felt like it had **hypnotized me**. I’ve searched for that movie and that channel so many times over the years, but I’ve never found anything that matches it.
I even remember watching **Insidious** years later, and I had this strange feeling of deja vu. There were scenes that looked familiar to me...the house, and especially the strange woman smiling while the father was searching for his son. I remember thinking, I’ve seen this \*before.\* But \*\*Insidious\*\* didn’t even exist when I had that experience.
There were a lot of things that bothered me.
**Where was I for those four hours? Why did it feel like I had lost time? What exactly happened between 11 PM and 3 AM? Why was the TV on static?**
And if that movie or whatever it was never existed… **then what the hell did I watch?**
**I never shared this online before until now, maybe someone is experiencing something similar?i** #entertainment source
