M101 - Pinwheel galaxy
This was the second object I imaged when I started with my Seestar S50 exactly one year ago! So I went back to it with more experience, and it's great to see the progress, both in understanding the acquisition process and, more importantly, post-processing. It's a night and day difference!
Equipment and acquisition:
\- Seestar S50, no filter for broadband stack
\- Seestar S50 with internal Ha-OIII filter for Ha stack
\- EQ mode, about 5.5 hours in broadband and 2 hours in Ha-OIII, bortle 4
Processing (PI and Siril)
\- WBPP, 2X drizzle for both image sets
\- Dynamic crop
\- Graxpert, blurX
\- LP stack: extract R channel, SetiAstro continuum subtraction, HT, noiseX
\- Broadband stack: blurx, noisex, setiastro statistical stretch
\- Added R channel from LP to broadband in pixelmath
\- StarX
\- curves transformation with various masks on starless image, createHDRimage
\- Star recombination in Siril, final retouches un Lightroom
