How to build a world-class CS foundation using only free resources?
I am a first-year IT Engineering student studying in a developing, post-war country. Because of our circumstances, our university curriculum is outdated and lags behind the fast-paced tech industry.
Fortunately, I find my university programming lectures easy to follow, so I have started studying on my own to bridge the gap. Right now, I am taking Harvard’s **CS50** and solving competitive programming problems on **Codeforces**.
However, I face severe constraints: I am broke, and ongoing financial sanctions on my country completely block international payments. Paid platforms are not an option, and local paid alternatives are mostly scams. I need exclusively **free resources**. Language is not an issue, as I can study fluently in **English, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, and French**.
My goals are global, and I want to prepare myself to compete internationally if I move abroad for work or graduate studies.
1. **What else should I be doing right now to stay competitive on a global level?** 2. **What other high-quality, free resources (courses, books, platforms) do you recommend?** 3. **Could anyone share a solid, comprehensive CS/IT learning roadmap that I can follow?** #programming #dev #technology source
