If my contract is limited to a date, do i still have to officially quit? Or can i just stop going at the said date?

I have a befristeter Vertrag that ends at the beginning of March, i don't want to renew it or work there anymore, but the Management didnt call me and i didnt go to them yet. Do i have to go to them and quit? Or do i just stop going when the period of the contract ends?
