The history behind a quirky 1986 map of Houston's Montrose neighborhood
You've no doubt seen Randy Ruhlman's quirky 1986 map of Montrose. But did you know that besides the map Ruhlman was a prolific designer for various Houston institutions, doing graphic design for Mayor Kathy Whitmire and Texas LGBTQ+ magazine This Week in Texas?
The Ruhlman map is a time capsule of Houston history and a reminder of our ever-changing urban fabric.
