Tourist Safety Help - Brown person
Hi, apologies if this comes off as ignorant I mean no offense but due to a lot of media sensationalism I've always been worried about travelling to Central/ Eastern Europe. I'm South Asian & was born in London so have always loved amongst different colours & religions, even a lot of Polish diaspora!
I know Poland is a lot safer than the UK in terms of general crime but I've heard many stories of racist attacks & the official UK government website also warns of racist attacks in Poland, which isn't something I've seen them mention for any other country (that I've seen anyways). I have many colleagues in Krakow & Warsaw who are very welcoming but this isn't something I feel comfortable asking them incase they take offense. So anyways, is it safe for a brown male to walk around Poland? Are there any specific areas I should avoid. Appreciate any help as I'd love to visit your country.
