I'd like to introduce my self to let people know what topics that i can help.. Feel free to contact me if you want to ask something. I have been working in IT industry for almost 25 years mostly in Hardware business as a distributor or wholesaler for big brands in Turkey and mostly in memory business (like Kingston). Also managed online business of a computer market for 6 years. Spent almost 12 years as technical advisor and product manager in Memory business. Successfully created 3 brands in memory and one B2C site for end users. I was specialized myself in Server memory & Solid state disks for a long time while working as a Samsung's and Kingston's distributor. Also worked with Runcore, Solidata and such brands in military grade products. After a while it was a bit tiring to work for hardware business so i changed my way :) Now I'm working for a company called Ozgur Yazilim as sales engineer that is specialized in opensource software development and system administration, consultancy etc. Don't hesitate to ask questions if you need help .. We are family... Btw: I live in Ankara/Turkey and glad to see you here..

is it true that if you don't use ssd and just keep it on a shelf for a few years it may loose the data?

Never heard such a problem, I can still reach data on 8GB first of its kind sata SSD'S :) but as a long term data storage i still prefer DVD or Blu-ray discs. because SSDs are composed of NAND flash memory and its just a 1/0 gates to store data that can easly altered. NAND flash ar non-volatile so thay can hold data evet if its not powered on.
