80% NFT in OpenSea plagiarism results, AI technology is the solution? - Newsletter 01/17/2023
NFT (Non-Fungible Token) is a cryptographic token or digital certificate which is one of the products of blockchain and cryptographic technology that is popular in recent years. This token is stored in a blockchain that will confirm the authenticity of the ownership of the asset. The popularity of this NFT is increasingly seen from the total market capitalization that has continued to increase since the last 3 years with many of its digital work makers who plunged into this industry ranging from digital art to music.
However, many of the works that Tokenisis became NFT became a forum for scammers in carrying out their crime such as fraud or forgery of digital assets. OpenSea, one of the largest NFT markets has also confirmed that more than 80% NFT made with free tools is plagiarism, fake collections and spam. This is a serious problem faced by the NFT industry given the many users who have entered the NFT market.
In addition to plagiarism or falsification of works, the NFT industry is also haunted by the issue of wash-trading from developers to get maximum profits. Wash-trading is a series of fake transactions on an asset (NFT) aimed at increasing the price of the asset. For example there is a developer A who makes and sells one NFT, this developer then creates a fake account to make a high price purchase against its NFT so that the price of the NFT rises. This process is carried out repeatedly until someone else bought the NFT, of course, with a much higher price.
Then how is the solution?
Some developers have tried to develop solutions in the issue of plagiarism and wash-trading in the NFT industry, including OpenSea in their confirmation through their tweets. But if we talk about broader technology, AI or Artificial Intelligence seems to be the right solution in solving this problem.
The development of AI technology has been very rapid in recent years and has been adopted by many industries in the world call it the financial, health, transportation and many more.
In the crypto industry itself various AI -based projects have appeared that offer solutions to existing problems. Call it a number of AI -based projects that have been offered by developers such as Airight ($ Airi), Tribeone ($ Haka) and Singularity ($ AGIX). We will discuss their projects and plans in overcoming problems in the NFT industry today in the next newsletter. Stay tune!
