The Indonesia U-22 national team will compete against the Thailand U-22 national team in the final match of the 2023 SEA Games. The Red and White squad made it to the final round after previously toppling Vietnam.

The peak party of the 2023 SEA Games Cambodia, the football branch, will bring together the Indonesian U-23 Team against Thailand. From 23 meetings, Garuda Muda won five victories, that moment occurred in the 1979, 1989, 1991, 2011, and 2019 editions. while Thailand won 16 wins and two draws.
"Tomorrow is the summit game, we are with Thailand. On this occasion I would like to thank the General Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Exco ranks who have entrusted and appointed us to be given the responsibility of handling the SEA Games team," said the coach of the Indonesian U-23 team, Indra Sjafri.
"Secondly, of course the support from the government, Kemenpora, KOI, KONI and the good work of CdM who prepared a very fantastic field for our preparations while here and also no less important, I take this opportunity to thank the club where the players come from and also the good cooperation from March with the club coach and I appreciate that and hopefully later our clubs will produce more players quality," he continued.
Indonesia's last gold medal memory occurred at the SEA Games edition in 1991. It was also the first time Indonesia met Thailand in the final. At that time, the Indonesia vs Thailand match ended with the same strong score of 0-0 in normal time. The Garuda squad defended by legendary names such as Ferril Hattu and Rochi Putiray then defeated Thailand 4-3 on penalties.
