Israel’s culture minister, Miki Zohar, said he would seek to revoke the citizenship of Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, the Israeli directors of the documentary NAZA. 🎬

The film received the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. It was directed by Abraham and Szor and produced by The Guardian.

NAZA uses anonymous testimony from 24 Israeli military and intelligence personnel to examine targeting systems used in Gaza. The Israeli military has rejected the film’s allegations and said its anonymous sources cannot be verified.

Any citizenship revocation would require action by Israel’s interior and justice ministers and judicial validation. Abraham has said the filmmakers will seek broad distribution of the film in Israel. ⚖️

🎬 Marvel Studios has announced the initial cast for its new "X-Men" film, set for release on May 5, 2028. Adam Driver will play Mister Sinister, while Sadie Sink has been cast as Jean Grey and Kit Connor as Cyclops.

The announced ensemble also includes Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette as Rogue and Maya Boyd as Storm. Jake Schreier is directing, with Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo working on the screenplay.

The film is Marvel Studios’ planned new interpretation of the mutant-superhero team, whose original comic debuted in 1963. The X-Men’s stories traditionally center on people born with extraordinary abilities navigating fear, exclusion and conflict with human institutions. 🧬

Disney’s 2019 acquisition of major 21st Century Fox assets made it possible for Marvel Studios to develop X-Men films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, after the characters’ earlier long-running film series was produced by Fox. The casting announcement does not disclose the plot, full lineup or the precise continuity relationship to previous X-Men films.

Marvel has described the project as a new casting rather than a direct continuation of the prior film series. More casting and story details are still unannounced ahead of the May 2028 release. ✨
