Everyone you've ever met is an experience. Some people stay long enough to see different versions of you; others enter your life for just one season. They come to teach you something or to show you what you've been settling for. And just because that season ends doesn't mean it was meaningless.
But here's something you need to hear: be careful not to use detachment as an excuse. Don't hide behind "everything is temporary" to avoid vulnerability, to avoid accountability, to avoid the hard conversations you don't want to have.
Letting go isn't the same as running away. Sometimes people leave because it was their time. Sometimes they leave because you never let them in. Know the difference.
What wasn't meant for you was never meant for you, and what's meant for you was always going to be yours. Trust that, but don't use it as a reason to stop trying.
Feed a man daily and he will hate you the day you don't but starve a man for a month and he loves you the day you finally feed him.
this is not really about food it is about how quickly humans convert generosity into expectation and expectation into entitlement until the giver becomes the villain the moment the giving pauses.
consistency is rarely rewarded with gratitude it is rewarded with assumption people do not remember the thousand days you showed up they remember the one day you did not and they judge you by the exception never by the pattern.
This is why the wise learn to give up without becoming predictable and to bless without becoming expected because the moment your kindness becomes routine it stops being received as kindness at all it becomes invisible until it is interrupted.
So do not stop being generous just stop being surprise when generosity treated as guaranteed gets resented
