Open floor plans sacrifice comfort and privacy just to make homes look bigger
Open floor plans look great in photos, but I think they’re worse to actually live in. Having the kitchen, dining room and living room all in one huge space means cooking smells go everywhere, noise travels through the entire house, and there’s basically no privacy.
I think homes feel much more comfortable when spaces are somewhat separated. Not necessarily tiny closed rooms everywhere, but enough division that every activity doesn’t happen in the exact same space.
It seems like open concept became the default for modern homes, but I don’t think making a house look larger is worth sacrificing privacy, acoustic separation and clearly defined spaces.

Adding guardrails for withdraws to mitigate sequence of returns risk makes you a slave to the market, defeating the purpose of financial independence.
It's common advise during retirement to take more money when the market is doing well and cut back when the market is down. But the whole point of retirement is so that you are free from money worries, that strategy necessitates you to continually worry about the market.

People on dating apps who say they are 'terrible at texting' or 'take 3-5 business days' to reply are just phishing for attention and to feel wanted
I use dating apps. There's plenty of people who will say they're looking for a life partner / long-term relationship, spouse, etc. who will put these lines in their profile.
Quite frankly, 90%+ of the time it's just an excuse to attract attention from the people they're not interested in while not feeling bad about it.
Bragging about being terrible at communication is not something you would want to communicate to a future potential partner. Given the short nature of messages on dating apps, it's simply not possible to have any meaningful communication if responses are spaced over 3+ days, and it takes 2 weeks to communicate 4 sentences.
However, these people want to solicit attention, but not feel bad about not reciprocating it to people they're not interested in.
