Just started a new job but received a response for an application for role I've been wanting
Hi all
I've just started a new job (fourth firm in private practice) but received a response from a company that I have been wanting to join for ages (in house). Since it's a large company and they will likely perform a background check, should I be upfront with them that I had recently wrapped up my role in my last company with the intention of taking a break to decide on my next move (i.e. I could say that I've been in private practice all this time, wanted a career break but that at the time of these thoughts I couldn't pass up the opportunity to apply for this role that was inhouse etc etc), or would you still pretend to look for employment (essentially lying to them that I'm still with my former company).
