Yup, we use a calendar that has 13 months—12 months of 30 days + 1 bonus month of 5 or 6 days.
While the world celebrates the new year on January 1, Ethiopians ring it in on Meskerem 1 (usually September 11).
Fun fact: That makes Ethiopia around 7–8 years “behind” the Gregorian calendar 😲
