What side are you on?
Let’s imagine two kids building sandcastles on the beach. One makes a tall tower, the other a wide fortress. Both are proud, both having fun. But then an adult walks by and says, “Wow, his tower is better,” or, “That one’s more impressive.” Suddenly, the kids stop playing. They start comparing. They start defending. The joy is gone—replaced by judgment, ego, and division.
This is how society works. From the moment we step into the world, we’re labeled. By race. By gender. By political stance. By religion. Even by what car we drive or the job we have. These labels start off as identifiers, but quickly become barriers. We stop seeing people. We start seeing categories.
It’s not the difference that creates the division. It’s the label we attach to it. The label that says I’m better, I’m right, I’m more valuable. That’s the root of the problem. Labels feed ego. Ego feeds separation. And separation breeds conflict.
If we truly want to lower the division in society, we must start within. We must stop clinging to these labels like they define our worth or identity. You are not your political party. You are not your job title. You are not your skin color, your religion, or the opinions you’ve been conditioned to believe. You are something far deeper.
When we strip away these external labels, we see others more clearly. We see the shared human underneath—the fears, the dreams, the desire to be seen and loved. That’s the space where healing begins.
So if you want to reduce division, stop defending the label. Start connecting with the human. Because the real battle isn’t out there—it’s in our conditioned minds. And once we stop needing to be a “something,” we finally start becoming someone.
