Alexandra Eala defeated Naomi Osaka 6-4, 6-2 in the Mubadala DC Open semifinals, earning the biggest win of her week and advancing to her first-ever WTA 500 singles final.
Eala played aggressively from the baseline, returned serve exceptionally well, and broke Osaka's serve at key moments. She controlled the rallies throughout the match and never allowed Osaka to build sustained momentum.
With the victory, Eala became the first Filipina to reach a WTA 500 final, where she will face top seed Jessica Pegula for the championship.
