What is the benefit of explosive diarrhea?

I can understand why diarrhea happens.
But sometimes diarrhea is classified as “explosive.” This is when it erupts out of the anus with force.
Genuinely asking - why the force? What purpose does that serve? What signals are happening in the body telling it that forcing the poop out is best?

Regular diarrhea already leaves the body so quickly.

corona discharge plasma simulation to model EHD/EAD propulsion

I am developing a custom OpenFOAM-13 application to simulate electrohydrodynamic (EHD / EAD) propulsion, coupling electrostatic body forces with the Navier - Stokes transport. My simulation uses electrostatic body forces coupled with Navier - Stokes equations and transport equations for multiple charge species.

One numerical challenge that I have partly solved is the appearance of un-physical negative charge densities. I extended the Courant number provided by OpenFOAM to suppress these and have successfully controlled negative densities https://paracpg.gitlab.io/wikis/cfdpages.html#controlling%20negative%20densities:%5B%5Bcontrolling%20negative%20densities%5D%5D (see the video here https://paracpg.gitlab.io/wikis/cfdpages.html#controlling%20negative%20densities:%5B%5Bcontrolling%20negative%20densities%5D%5D ).

As you can see from the video this approach works quite well, however I would prefer to eliminate the underlying numerical issue.

I am looking for collaborators with experience in areas such as:

* OpenFOAM solver development
* Finite-volume discretisation and numerical stability
* Drift-diffusion or plasma transport models
* Electrohydrodynamics or electroaerodynamics
* CFD algorithms for strongly coupled multiphysics problems

If you have worked on similar problems - or are interested in exploring them together - I would be very interested in hearing from you. I am happy to share details of the implementation, discuss ideas, and collaborate on improving the numerical formulation.

The Dark Night of Mathematics

In the wake of the recent bloodbath of conjectures by LLMs, this post argues that the math community may still be in denial about the future of humans in math. This is one of the most depressing things I've read in a while, so proceed with caution.

As a card carrying scientician and professional thinking person, I can only say, *I'm sorry, I feel your pain*. Yes, mathematics being pure thought makes the displacement especially acute for mathematicians, but more broadly speaking, our species found a niche on the African savannah by being thinking beasts. Thus, I also feel anger, knowing that there are people out there who think it's somehow a good idea to make something that will outthink us and deprive us of our collective place in the world.

Why can’t a snake be both venomous and a constricting type?

This was more of a random shower thought that I had about animal biology. For a while, I knew the two differences between venomous and non-venomous, but it made me curious as to why it’s always one or the other and never both? Is it due to just genetics only allowing one type or is it that constricting isn’t really too much of a solo class of snakes? Can anyone explain this please and thank you?

I find it fascinating to see land visibly changing from earthquakes. How is it possible that land mass change so fast?

Recently in my country, earthquakes had been frequent ever since the strongest one happened on June 8th. It was a magnitude of 7.8 that damaged most buildings and shifted a lot of roads. Since then, more quakes started to happen surrounding our fault line. In the seaside areas, there were coastal uplifts that exposed the sea bed. I wondered; how fast did the land lift? It looked so sudden that a new patch of land basically "grew" from the beach.

Help identifying a lecture/speech

I am trying to locate a lecture I viewed some time ago, which is titled "Unlocking the Universe: Energy's Role in the Existence" (LINK ATTACHED) and was presented by a professor I guess. I'm not sure about the context of this video, but I guess it is about debunking the free energy claims and perpetual motion machines.

Would anyone happen to know the exact title of this lecture, the full name of the presenter, or where an official full recording might be available?

Thank You.
