Driving from austin to south carolina for xmas…how do I safely stop and rest?
I’m trying to avoid getting a hotel because 1. it’ll drag out the trip and 2. it’s expensive. I’m also traveling with my dog, so finding pet friendly hotels is a whole thing. I sort of just wanna stop and rest somewhere, but im wondering is it safe? I’m a smaller female and while I do have mace and a taser, i feel like it’s risky. Where and how could I stop to rest without having to bother with the hotel or risk of safety? #activities#travel source

I have a 2010 Hyundai accent blue hatchback, I need to get it from Texas to Oregon since I relocated. I plan to drive it from Texas to Oregon but I think that it's a pretty far trip and not a very safe option. What recommendations do you have for car shipping companies that will take it from one state to the other? #activities#travel
My vacation got approved Dec 11-Jan 3. I’m in Kansas and I’m looking to go on a couple week roadtrip and want some suggestions. I’m thinking of going west to Colorado bc I loved it out there but wanted to see if there were any cool things in the surrounding area I missed. I’m prepared for the winter and have camped in the winter a good amount of times so I’m not worried about it being cold just about things not being opened. #travel#activities source
If I travel from Austin to Pensacola and pass through New Orleans, is it worth taking a different route for the return trip?
We have an 8-month-old baby and are planning a road trip this December from Austin to Houston, New Orleans, and Pensacola. We’d prefer not to take the same route on the way back, and it seems like the only alternative is to go up through Alabama and take Highway 20 back to Austin.
Are there any worthwhile stops or sights along that route? Is it even worth taking the longer route? #activities#travel
This summer I made a roadtrip down the west coast from Seattle to San Diego (101, 1) and I had a blast. Cannot recommend it enough.
Next year I'm going to attend a conference in San Francisco mid March. My plan is to arrive a week early to go for another roadtrip. Starting in LA -> Vegas -> through Death Valley to Lone Pine -> take the US 395 for scenic views up to South Lake Tahoe -> from there to SF with some extra days in the SF area before the conference starts.
My background: I love driving in the US. It is so much more relaxing than the frantic traffic in Germany. I enjoyed scenic views, wide roads and driving through small cities. This roadtrip is about the drive, not about visiting parks or cities.
My questions:
* What weather conditions do I have to expect on my way? (9-16th of March). * Last time I took a Ford Mustang convertible. I loved it for its raw power and also for it being a convertible. I know it will probably be colder than last time. Still reasonable? Other car recommendations? * Will I get scenic views on my way? * Recommendations to alter my route? #activities#travel source
Tips for Sleeping in a Car During a Road Trip in Florida?
I’m traveling by car in the US and Florida for the first time, and I’d like to save money on accommodation. I plan to sleep in my car—could you please recommend places where this is allowed (besides rest areas)? Ideally, I’d like to sleep in my car anywhere, but as far as I understand, this can be challenging in the US.
Is it possible to simply pull off the road (not on the highway) and sleep in my car in a field or other quiet spot? #activities#travel source
Searching for universal sign to signal those traveling traverse that your brights are on please turn them off
Yeah, brake checking (or tapping, as the silent generation prefers to anoint) is an option but not a safe one, nor the answer for various reasons including the potential insanity positioning of that who’s riding your mesenteries ; but when it comes to high beams - is there a universal signal to inform those in the wake that their brights are on and overtaking all abilities of allusion because of the dissolution of contusion —- or like , do I need a special flashlight to revolt out my window in negative degrees and already blinding winds to then put another endanger of myopia while trailing behind on this county road.
